Privacy

AULË Workshop lets you design a solid-wood table and send us a request to make it. This page explains what information that involves, what we do with it and the choices you have. In short: you don’t need an account, we don’t take payment on this site, and we don’t use advertising cookies or outside analytics services.

What we collect

• Your design. What you type to describe your table, your replies in the design chat, and the choices you make: size, timber, finish and shape.
• Photos you choose to add. A reference photo on the design page, and photos of your room if you use the room step.
• Your room. The room size you enter, or the room scan made on your phone if you use it.
• How you use the site. The pages you visit and the links and buttons you click, in order, and each request you make in the design chat with the design it produced. We keep these ourselves to understand how people use the site and to improve it. They are tied to a cookie, not to your name. Apart from your design chat requests, we don’t record what you type. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t record your pages and clicks.
• Security details. To stop automated misuse, the site sets one small cookie that tells repeat visits apart and notes the internet address a request comes from, for a day at most. It isn’t used for advertising.
• Your interest in ordering. AULË is in beta and isn’t taking orders yet. If you register interest in a table, we receive your email address and delivery ZIP code, with the table as you set it up: its design, size, timber and quantity, and the price shown.

We don’t ask for payment details, and we don’t collect your name or contact details unless you give them to us.

How we use it

• To create and show your design, including the 3D preview.
• To show your table in your room, if you ask for that.
• To check your table can be made, and estimate its price and delivery.
• To email you when ordering opens, about the table you registered interest in, and to invite you to our pilot group if you’re chosen. We won’t add you to a newsletter, and you can ask us to remove your email at any time.
• To keep the site working and secure.
• To understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.

We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated to your table.

Services that handle it for us

• Anthropic supports our design service. It receives only what you type in the design chat, your current design and any reference photo you add, never your email or ZIP code.
• Fly.io hosts the site and stores room photos, scans and interest sign-ups.
• RunPod makes the photographs of your table in our styled rooms. It receives only your table’s shape, timber and finish, never your email or ZIP code.

They process this information to provide these services to us. Each has its own privacy policy that explains how it keeps information.

How long we keep it

• Your designs are saved in your own browser, so you can come back to them. Deleting a design, or clearing your browser’s site data, removes them.
• We keep room photos and scans for as long as we need them to show and make your table. Ask us and we’ll delete them sooner.
• We keep your interest sign-up until ordering opens and we’ve told you, or until you ask us to delete it.
• We keep records of how the site is used, and the design requests made in it, for up to two years.

Room previews are illustrations

Pictures of your table in a room are made from your design. They show the idea, not an exact photograph of the finished table. The same goes for the room pictures marked “Illustration” on our home page.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to aule@aule-design.com. If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, these are also your rights under that law. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to the information we store is limited to what’s needed to handle your request. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share.

Changes and contact
